September Lust List

by - Monday, September 08, 2014

Maybe it's the impending cooler weather or the fact that it's my first September as a non-student, but I'm definitely feeling a slightly more mature sense of style recently. That's right ladies and gents, Jenessa has gone somewhat normcore and this months lust list completely reflects my new found penchant for classic colours, shapes and styles. Gasp - not one pattern in sight. I must be getting older...

1) ASOS Coatigan, £55
After discovering that out of my million and one coats/jackets I have nothing at all that could resemble smartwear, I've fallen completely in love with coatigans. Light enough to wear in the day but heavy enough to ward off a chill, this grey number is maybe a little out of my part time worker price range at the moment but it's an incredibly versatile colour that adds a professional edge to a casual outfit.

2)Orla Kiely for Clarks shoes, £120
Let's face it, these shoes can speak for themselves. I love the retro combination of mustard and brown and the fact they look exactly like something my mum would have worn in the 70s. Again, a little out of my price range, but hey, this is a lust list, not a buy list right?

3)The 'Neppy Tee' (similar here)
Although the tee pictured is a Topshop one, I purchased one of the tees in a deep grey for £4 from Primark, and it's fast become one of my most worn items. Almost identical to the Topshop one but for a fraction of the price, they come in about 10 different colours and I'm strongly fighting the urge to buy one of each. Perfect for throwing on with Jeans for a simple, yet 'put together' look.

4) Urban Outfitters Bookcase, £80
My desire to play scholar has led to quite the book collection, and whilst my bog standard ikea bookcase is working well for it's money, I'm lusting after a time where I can live in a scandi-white flat with all manner of hipster tomes displayed on a minimal, colour pop unit. I'm really taken with this green number, although that could be quite a lot to do with how well they have styled it. Oh Urban Outfitters, you're just too good.

5)H&M Oxblood Tote, £29.99
I am unfortunately one of those girls who likes to leave the house with everything and the kitchen sink, so I've been after one of H&M's ginormous totes for a while. The baby blue version has my heart, but seen as winter is approaching and my very practical boyfriend keeps reminding me that bags always get filthy, this oxblood version could be a happy compromise in time for me to (hopefully) return to Uni or secure that much sought-after media job.

6)Seafolly SeaSalt Jacket, £79.95
Although the coatigan may be my new found outerwear of choice, there is no getting away from the fact that I do live in the middle of West Yorkshire, where rain is less a weather risk, and more an inevitability. This seafolly jacket is not only very retro-cute, but it's 100% waterproof, meaning no more broken umbrellas, frizzy wet hair and grumpy Jenny.

7)Topshop Moto Intense Blue Leigh Jeans, £38
After owning and loving one single pair of jeans for the past five years (Matalan's £14 super skinny, if you're asking), I'm sorry to say that my trusty trews are finally starting to show some wear in the err, crotch area. Having heard rave reviews from pretty much all my friends, this tightwad is strongly contemplating coughing up for some Topshop replacements in the hope they will pay me back in kind. I'll keep you all updated.

8)Rita Ora for Rimmel Varnish in 'White Hot Love'
Maybe I've been watching too much Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but my desire for white nail varnish is showing no signs of stopping. I'm not a Rita Ora fan particularly, but I do like the colours in her range a lot and they seem to be perpetually on offer, so this may well be the latest addition to my ever-growing nail collection.
