June/July Second-Hand Haul 2015

by - Thursday, August 06, 2015

As if it's August already - where has my summer gone? When I knew that I'd be having a quiet season with work I had all sorts of plans to catch up on life admin and maybe even take up a couple of hobbies, but lo and behold, here we are and only half my dream non-work to-do list accomplished. Isn't it always the way?One hobby that has not gone awry though is my obsession with second-hand shopping. In the past two months I've picked up some really ace pieces that I'm mega excited to style. Here we go...

H&M Purple Turtleneck - 99p from eBay | H&M Suede Skirt - £2.09 from eBay

Both of these items were listed on eBay as 'vintage', so it's a good thing I'm not a purist and they still fit me well. I've been after a suede skirt for months but have never seemed to find the right colour or length, so this little number through the post was like a dream. The sweater I picked up after seeing a similar skirt styled with a jumper in this colour in ASOS magazine - it's a great combination that will take me right through to autumn.

Dungaree Dress £2.19 from eBay | 80s Jacket £8 Sue Ryder Vintage

Like the rest of the world I've fallen pretty hard for Alexa Chung's AG collection, and this denim dungadress was the denim wash missing in my wardrobe. I've worn it loads already with simple striped tops on days I can't be bothered to pick out anything more complex. The jacket was bought for me by my boyfriend - he insists that I need more fun colour in my life and I must admit, it looks surprisingly cool on - imma channel solange and wear it with high top trainers, denim shorts and some hoop earrings.

70s Dress - £2.20 from eBay | 70s Crochet Bag £3

I'm still in my mustard phase, so these two were must haves. The dress fits perfectly for something that was labelled as handmade, and looks ace over a mustard turtleneck. I must admit I wish the bag was a little bigger, but it's perfect for making a statement on a quick day trip out.

Fruit Of The Loom Baseball Tee £1.70 from eBay | Miss Selfridge Red Denim Skirt £4.07 from eBay

I'm also in a red phase! It's never a colour I've owned much of despite it suiting me pretty well (I think) so I thought I better invest in some basics. The red skirt is even better than I imagined - it's got a great stretch to it so actually fits properly on the waist and bum, a distinct rarity for my figure.

Vintage Rainbow Dress £10 Judy's Vintage @ Beatherder | Vintage Playsuit £5 Blue Rinse

My dress of absolute dreams! I still can't believe I got this for only a tenner - it's crochet rainbow stripes for goodness sake? The playsuit is also pretty festival worthy, even if I haven't had a chance to wear it out yet. They'll be outfit posts featuring both of these soon - stay tuned!

ASOS Blouse - £2.50  | F&F Denim Skirt - £2.50 (both from local community shop)

This cute little outfit jumped out at me as I wandered past my little community shop on the way to the post office. Stock quality varies in there, but it's always mega cheap and sometimes you can stumble upon things in immaculate condition, just like these two. Again expect an outfit post soon.

Forever 21 Crochet Top £1.70 from eBay | Select Folk Dress £1.75 from Community Shop

Two folky numbers! These both served me well at Beatherder - festivals are where you need floaty clothes the most with all that running around. I would never normally be found shopping in select, but this chiffon dress was surprisingly cute and very on trend. Plus, who's complaining for £1.75?

Nike Trainers £1.04 from eBay

And lastly, my biggest bargain of the month - possibly my biggest bargain of the year so far! These Nike Trainers were only the tiniest bit worn and I can't believe I managed to snap them up for just over a quid. The colour is really vivid and they're so comfortable...tempted to scour eBay for an orange pair...
